The Facilities Management (FM) team at Starlizard oversees all physical aspects of the company’s buildings, ensuring they remain safe, compliant and comfortable for staff.
The team is responsible for Health & Safety compliance, building operations and delivering a high‑quality workplace experience. Activities span hands‑on facilities tasks, maintaining essential administrative records and supporting FM‑related projects that enable the business to operate effectively.
WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING?
The Facilities Assistant provides day‑to‑day support to the FM team, helping maintain a safe, functional and well‑presented office environment.
This entry‑level role is ideal for someone starting a career in facilities management. The role offers exposure to building operations, health & safety, contractor coordination and office support, while contributing to an excellent workplace experience for staff.
Responsibilities will include:
- Carry out daily office checks to ensure the workspace is clean, operational and well-presented.
- Respond to basic maintenance requests and escalate issues where required.
- Participate in training on Health & Safety policies and workplace compliance.
- Assist in logging incidents, hazards and near misses, learning appropriate escalation procedures.
- Assist in monitoring building systems such as HVAC, lighting, water systems and access control.
- Learn to interpret basic mechanical & electrical (M&E) documentation, including schematics and maintenance schedules.
- Support contractors during planned maintenance visits, ensuring safe access and compliance with site rules.
- Update logs, files, spreadsheets and simple reports as directed by the Facilities Administrator or Head of Facilities.
- Learn how to use CAFM/helpdesk systems to log, track and close tasks.
