Role Overview
We are seeking a motivated and results-oriented Security Engineer to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks related to safeguarding our IT infrastructure, applications, and data from cyber threats. You will work collaboratively with other security professionals, IT platform, operations, and development teams to implement and maintain robust security controls, identify and remediate vulnerabilities, and respond to security incidents.
What Will You Be Doing?
- Analysing security logs and events to identify and investigate potential security incidents.
- Implementing and maintain security controls from the CIS security framework.
- Configuring and manage security tools and technologies.
- Staying up-to-date on the latest security threats and vulnerabilities.
- Developing and document security policies and procedures.
- Participating in incident response activities.
- Providing security awareness training to employees.
- Working collaboratively with other teams to ensure security is integrated into all aspects of the organisation.
- Contributing to the continuous improvement of the organisation’s security posture.
What Skills Will You Have?
- Demonstrable understanding of security concepts, principles and best practices.
- Experience with security tools and technologies, such as SIEM, SOAR, EDR, NDR etc.
- Linux and associated scripting languages (preferably Python, bash, PowerShell, etc.).
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with cloud security.
- Experience with security automation tools.
- Experience with incident response frameworks and methodologies.
- Passion for cyber security and a continuous learning mindset.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field (or equivalent experience).
