Starlizard’s Data Analysts are focussed on improving our end-to-end betting processes. This involves a combination of statistical analysis, data manipulation and mathematical modelling. This work improves the scale, efficiency and profitability of our betting processes.
What type of candidate are you?
You will be comfortable applying your skills in mathematics and statistics to conduct analysis and modelling for a range of projects. You’ll be expected to collaborate with other members of the team to determine the best approach and interpret your results.
There will be a lot to learn so you’ll need to ask questions, reflect on feedback and have the tenacity and diligence to thoroughly test and deliver solutions.
You will have an interest in sport or sports betting, demonstrated through personal interests or commercial experience.
What will you be doing?
With access to large and varied datasets, you will apply a combination of data manipulation and statistical analysis to analyse our betting systems and optimise our decision-making processes.
You will be expected to engage in technical discussions with other team members but will also be comfortable working independently when necessary.
At times, there will be completely new problems that need to be solved. You’ll need the intellectual curiosity and the support of the team to decide where to start and how to tackle these challenges.
What skills will you have?
- Strong numeric and analytical ability, preferably a 2:1 or higher in a Maths related degree
- Strong experience with Python
- Experience in the processing and manipulation of datasets.
- Have used remote repositories.
- Have deployed a website, model or application.
- A strong interest in sport
